Project Manager I

The Tsui Group is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Manager I (Capital Improvement) to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing County Capital Improvement projects in the Parks, Probation, and General Projects Section.
Key Responsibilities- Manage vertical construction and public sector building projects through planning, design, jurisdictional approvals, construction, and close-out.
- Work experience with County of Los Angeles Building Code and Standards.
- Knowledge of Public Contracting Code practices.
- Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Work experience in project planning and development.
- Experience working in an operational facility including maintenance type work.
- Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
- Ability to develop and control project scope.
- Ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
- Ability to develop and review project schedules.
- Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.
- Ability to run the day-to-day management aspects of projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings.
- Ability to effectively negotiate and prepare change orders.
- Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate construction activities with the various project stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges.
- Effectively recognize and elevate relevant project issues to superiors.
- Ability to set and manage project expectations.
- Minimum 10 years of project management and concurrent field construction experience.
- Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- Education background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Job Order Contracting (JOC) project delivery.
- Design-Build and Progressive Design-Build project delivery.
- CMAR project delivery.
- Working on projects with multiple phases and construction contracts.
- Los Angeles County Public Works protocols and procedures.
- Master planning and feasibility studies.
- Salary Range: $139,000-$144,000.
- Medical, Vision, & Dental – 100% covered for the employee.
- Life and Disability Insurance.
- 10.5 days of Vacation pay (Accrued).
- 6 days of Sick pay (Available Immediately).
- 10 days of Vacation pay (9 Holidays, 1 Personal Day).
- 3% Employer Contribution 401k (After 1 year of service).
- Monthly Stipend for Cell Phone.
- Laptop for work purposes.
