Job Summary

The Clinical Research Informatician plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between clinicians/researchers and data. This position requires a unique blend of clinical workflow knowledge, terminology, and practices with an understanding of health information technology to advance clinical and translational research towards improved patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between clinicians/researchers and data stewards to ensure seamless data exchange and utilization.
  • Informatics Software Development: Interface with stakeholders on informatics software development, maintenance, and operations to create tailored solutions for clinical areas.
  • Workflow Optimization: Create streamlined workflows for the exploitation of healthcare data, leveraging IT to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and patient outcomes.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Apply insights gained from research to improve patient care or healthcare operations by analyzing and interpreting healthcare data using self-service tools or coding languages.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise between clinical stakeholders and Enterprise Data & AI technical team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or Health Informatics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical research, clinical informatics, and information technology, with a strong background in clinical operations, Health Information Management, or care management.
  • Skills: Experience with clinical standards and coding, clinical definitions, ontologies, dictionaries, and taxonomies, as well as KPIs as they relate to clinical areas.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, test, and implement applications and algorithms for the collection, organization, and analysis of healthcare data.
  • Assist in the development of presentations, scientific publications, and grant proposals.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and IT service providers to ensure that their products and services are tailored to meet the unique operational needs of the healthcare facility.
