Job Description FOR Director of mail production:
We are seeking a Director of Mail Production to lead our Mail Production Department. This role involves managing associates to ensure the success of the department. The ideal candidate will have experience in mail production/operations and proven ability to manage the department's function and its employees.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure the efficient functioning of all mail production-related activities.
- Supervise department employees and oversee temporary workers.
- Provide leadership on the production floor, promoting a positive work environment.
- Set performance goals to foster a culture of continual improvement with engaged and accountable employees.
- Track and measure employee productivity and performance to meet efficiency and quality standards.
- Ensure all employees document in the Avanti system.
- Schedule, prioritize, and execute job responsibilities and workflow for on-time completion.
- Resolve production issues and keep management informed.
- Recommend changes in materials, equipment, and procedures to improve operational methods.
- Train personnel and implement changes to increase production output.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Mail Production Department.
- Follow EOS guidelines and conduct weekly L-10 meetings.
- Manage Mail Production staff by recruiting, training, coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising performance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Must have experience in mail production/operations
- Proven ability to manage the department's function and its employees
- Strong interpersonal skills to motivate, train, and encourage staff
- Knowledge and experience with various mail production equipment including inkjet machines, inserting machines, and tabber machines
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
