This role is essential for the accurate management of medication orders, including assessment, preparation, and distribution in line with established professional standards. The pharmacist will deliver high-quality, patient-centered medication information and advice to healthcare professionals and patients, while also overseeing pharmacy technicians. *This is a PRN Position*
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the suitability of medication orders prior to preparing or allowing the first dose to be distributed.
- Identify non-formulary medications, potential drug interactions, or therapy-related drugs, and provide alternative options to physicians, adhering to the hospital's formulary guidelines.
- Ensure a sufficient stock of medications and supplies is maintained beyond the immediate shift.
- Confirm all dosage calculations based on patient-specific information outlined in the care plan.
- Regularly conduct audits of narcotic records and maintain an ongoing inventory of narcotics in accordance with established policies.
- Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD is required.
