About the Role:

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist 3 to join our Radiology team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient access to our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the general supervision of the office supervisor and medical staff, follow established policies and procedures to gather and record necessary information for patient scheduling and financial clearance.
  • Obtain and verify patient demographics, clinical, and financial information to accurately schedule patient visits, surgery, and other hospital procedures.
  • Assist with patient check-in, insurance notifications, and authorizations for oncology scheduled hospital and TGMG services to support claim processing and reimbursement.
  • Follow up with patients post-surgery and appointment to answer staff messages and ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Recognize and adhere to all CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when validating hospital accounts.
  • Collaborate with nurses, medical staff, ancillary departments, insurance carriers, care management/utilization, HIMS, scheduling, and other external professionals to assist patients with obtaining healthcare and financial services.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and (2) years experience with scheduling, registration, insurance verification in a healthcare setting.
  • Moderate expertise with computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Database programs.
