Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain liaison relationships with federal agencies, utility companies, and other entities to facilitate utility coordination.
  • Develop, maintain, and update utility relocation schedules to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Assist in the management of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and Utility Coordination (UC) projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and submittals.
  • Participate in marketing SUE/EC services both internally and externally to promote the company's expertise.
  • Prepare proposals to secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and interpret Department policies and procedures related to utility adjustments, relocations, negotiations, reimbursements, and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Measure, coordinate, and calculate payments for betterment ratios, eligibility percentages, supplements, market value comparisons, and relocation costs.
  • Meet with utility representatives and other entities to explain the utility accommodation policy, relocation, and reimbursement processes, negotiate, answer questions, and resolve problems.
  • Monitor the installation, removal, adjustment, or relocation of utilities to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee current projects for progress and pending projects for planning purposes, consulting and advising personnel on policies and procedures.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain documents, references, and resource materials.
  • Review agreements, plans, specifications, and billings submitted by utility companies.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of utility coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of the utility coordination process.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation V8i.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
