Director of Information Security

VieCure is revolutionizing the way cancer care is delivered, and we're seeking a visionary leader to join our team. As the Director of Information Security, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive information risk management program that ensures the protection of sensitive information assets.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a strategic enterprise information security and IT risk management program to safeguard sensitive information and maintain system integrity.
- Lead information security governance efforts, including the creation of an Information Security Steering Committee.
- Maintain and communicate up-to-date security policies, standards, and guidelines, overseeing security training for all employees and system users.
- Implement a risk-based vendor management process to assess and mitigate risks from partners, consultants, and service providers.
- Develop and manage the information security budget, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Create and manage security awareness programs to educate employees, contractors, and approved users about potential security threats.
- Collaborate with business units to conduct IT risk assessments and manage acceptable levels of risk.
- Enhance and maintain the information security management framework, focusing on HIPAA and HITECH compliance.
- Provide strategic risk guidance for IT projects, including evaluating and recommending technical controls.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations to minimize audit findings and reduce risk.
- Act as a liaison between the information security team and legal, audit, compliance, and HR teams when necessary.
- Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and HITECH.
- Excellent attention to detail, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to perform technical analysis and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and deliver results.
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- CISSP or similar security certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing an information security team or operations.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have leadership abilities to motivate teams and solve complex problems. Strong customer service focus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
- Regular meetings with the CTO and IT leadership, but largely self-directed.
- Frequent contact with employees, clients, and vendors, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
- This position will handle highly confidential information that is protected by Federal and State HIPAA laws and company policies.
- Must be able to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, or move objects.
- Normal mental and visual demands based on the flow of work.
- Infrequent travel, approximately 10-15%.
