Position Overview:
This role is an entry-level clerical position within the Administration Department.

Key responsibilities include operating court-related computer systems, data entry, managing office equipment, processing incoming mail, addressing customer inquiries, filing, issuing court orders, and performing various general office clerical tasks.

Work is conducted under supervision and evaluated through observation, exception reports, and performance metrics.
STARTING SALARY WILL NOT EXCEED 10% OF THE BASE SALARY
Typical duties and responsibilities of a Court Specialist include, but are not limited to:

Providing customer service (i.e., answering phone calls, responding to inquiries via telephone and email, and assisting at the front counter);
Processing documents within e-filing queues and directing them to the appropriate channels;
Handling requests for electronic documents, known as Viewable On Request (VOR);
Delivering customer service through phone, email, and in-person interactions;
Updating and entering court actions and disposition information into the case management system;
Assisting customers with inquiries regarding case dispositions;
Receiving, logging, distributing, and processing incoming pleadings, documents, mail, and faxes;
Conducting database research to extract and report information for clients;
Determining indigency and completing necessary documentation;
Initiating new cases and processing case and non-case fees;
Photocopying and certifying records;
Requesting case files;
Maintaining daily operational and statistical logs;
Performing basic docketing and data entry tasks;
Imaging and validating documents;
Assisting in drafting procedures for assigned responsibilities;
Regular attendance is essential;
Other duties as assigned.

Licensure or Certification Requirements:
A valid driver's license may be required if tasked with transporting files between locations or assigned to a remote office.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Understanding of general office policies and procedures. Proficient knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation. Familiarity with filing systems and basic records management practices. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Capacity to interact with the public, judiciary, and others in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues.

Advanced skills in operating personal computers, scanners, and printers; basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and other office automation tools; and the capability to learn specialized, complex court and records management software.

Ability to perform routine administrative support tasks.
Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License.
Completion of a Background Check through the Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
Verification of Past Employment.
Verification of Education.
Pre-employment drug screening at a designated County location.
Eligibility for E-Verify to work in the United States.
90-Day Introductory Period.
