Job Summary
The Department of Restorative Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), School of Dentistry, is seeking candidates for a full-time, open tenure faculty role at open rank. This position emphasizes graduate-level teaching within a vertically integrated curriculum, alongside research responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled clinician with a strong commitment to education, mentorship, and patient care. The Department comprises approximately 70 faculty members dedicated to enhancing students' professional growth and instilling values that emphasize their crucial role in patient health.
Through innovative educational programs, we aim to produce graduates who are lifelong learners, capable of delivering competent clinical care and contributing positively to both the profession and public welfare.
Furthermore, these values are cultivated through active participation in an interdisciplinary professional culture, fostering collaboration across the medical community to ensure comprehensive care for diverse populations.
Finally, DMD graduates are expected to uphold patient care principles grounded in evidence-based best practices, ensuring exceptional oral healthcare for all cultural backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess a DMD/DDS or equivalent degree. Candidates should have completed a CODA-accredited Advanced Education in Prosthodontics residency. Eligibility and/or certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics is preferred. Responsibilities will include preclinical and clinical teaching within a vertically integrated curriculum. Prior experience in academic teaching and research is advantageous. Candidates will also have the opportunity to engage in an intramural faculty practice.
