Job Overview

AbbVie is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Scientific Medical Affairs to join our team. As a key member of our Medical Affairs department, you will play a critical role in developing and executing medical strategies for our migraine portfolio, including onabotulinumtoxinA (onabotA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of medical strategy for onabotA and the migraine portfolio, working closely with cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and implement medical education tactics, including training programs and marketing materials.
  • Generate clinical and scientific data to support medical strategy and educational initiatives.
  • Participate in conference planning and execution, and develop scientifically accurate marketing materials.
  • Collect and summarize feedback from scientific sources to inform therapeutic area team decisions.
  • Perform medical review of complex advertising and promotional materials.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage budgets and timelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry or academia, with a strong track record of leading in a cross-functional matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences, with an advanced scientific degree (e.g., PhD, MD/DO, PharmD, NP, MSN) preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and critical-thinking skills, with excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment, with a high sense of urgency and commitment to excellence.
