About the Role

Mayer Fabrics is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Sales Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our Sales Service Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients and sales representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order Management: Accurately process customer orders, maintain order awareness, and ensure timely shipping.
  • Backorder Management: Effectively communicate with the Purchasing Department to process backorders, update customers on expected ship dates, and notify them upon receipt of goods.
  • Product Information and Support: Provide detailed product information, lead times, and pricing to customers and sales representatives, as well as assist with product specifications and alternates.
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with customers and sales representatives to grow our company-wide customer base, communicate project information, and resolve customer issues.
  • Product Knowledge and Expertise: Embrace Mayer Fabrics' product line, including recognition of popular patterns, general knowledge of finishes, uses, and other relevant information.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication, positive attitude, self-control, and enthusiasm.
  • Technical Skills: PC literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, ability to easily learn new software programs, and general math knowledge.
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma/College Experience preferred.
