Job Summary:
We're looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Phlebotomist to collect and process patient blood samples in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and store patient blood samples according to established procedures
- Explain the blood draw process to patients in a clear and courteous manner
- Use proper technique to collect blood samples using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
- Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
- Attend annual department trainings and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed
- Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent patient interaction skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compensation:
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $23.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
