Role Summary

The Family Services Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating family involvement and psychoeducational initiatives for youth entering and exiting our programs. This position involves engaging with families to provide orientation and initiate essential services, as well as conducting in-home training to enhance family skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-home family skills training, addressing parental concerns and youth-related issues in various environments, including homes, schools, and workplaces.
  • Coordinate community activities to ensure families' needs are met, identify positive support systems, and facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with key community stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships between schools and communities, engaging with industry contacts.
  • Implement psychoeducational services in alignment with the AMIkids Personal Growth Model and evidence-based practices.
  • Oversee family assessments and ensure the development of family treatment plans within contractual guidelines.
  • Participate in progress meetings with treatment team members for each youth as required.
  • Ensure timely completion of weekly behavioral updates and goal progressions, maintaining accurate session documentation.
  • Lead or participate in interdisciplinary meetings focused on positive reinforcement and care reviews.
  • Administer First Aid and CPR during emergencies, adhering to national standards.
  • Complete administrative duties, including:
    • Engaging in staff meetings and training sessions to promote open communication and information sharing.
    • Submitting necessary reports and documentation, acting as a liaison between AMIkids and regulatory bodies.
    • Conducting monthly audits to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Monitor compliance with treatment protocols and maintain precise records.
  • Attend required training and professional development sessions, ensuring all certifications and licenses are current.
  • Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
  • Experience providing counseling or psychoeducation to families in their home environment is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
