Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician Assistant to join our team at Western State Hospital. As a Primary Care Physician Assistant, you will provide medical evaluation and care for patients with acute and chronic medical problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care for assigned units
  • Perform and document medical evaluations, including comprehensive medical histories and physicals
  • Develop and document working diagnoses and treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Collaborate with attending psychiatrist/NP for patients with complex medical/psychiatric interfaces
  • Refer patients to outside licensed physicians, clinics, or healthcare providers as needed
Requirements
  • Completion of approved physician assistant training course and current certification
  • Current, unrestricted RN and PA licenses in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Knowledge of and experience with Primary Care medicine at the physician assistant level
