Position Overview

This exempt role is integral in delivering comprehensive primary care services, which include:

  • Assessing and diagnosing patient conditions
  • Prescribing and administering treatments
  • Educating patients and their families about health management

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at White Plains Hospital adheres to the highest standards of nursing practice as outlined by the American Nurses Association. You will embody the hospital's vision, mission, and values while contributing to our performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough health assessments, including patient history and physical examinations.
  • Evaluate diagnostic tests and integrate findings into patient care plans.
  • Develop and implement care strategies in accordance with established policies and available resources.
  • Engage patients and their families in the care planning process.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment options.
  • Assess the effectiveness of care plans and interventions, making modifications as needed.
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation of patient interactions and care provided.
  • Participate in the education and mentoring of healthcare professionals and students.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance nursing practice.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner and compliance with state regulatory requirements.
