About the Role

OU Health is seeking an experienced RN Resident to join its team in the Medicine Step Down/Intermediate unit. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, with shifts available between 6:45am and 6:45pm or 6:45pm and 6:45am.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide nursing care to a variety of patients with complex health problems, ranging from simple to multifaceted disease processes. The ideal candidate will be motivated, compassionate, and disciplined, with a strong ability to work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Assist physicians in the examination of patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing their physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Deliver patient care competently
  • Interact with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at time of discharge
  • Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
  • Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
  • Delegate tasks to support staff

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 1 year if working step down
