We are seeking a highly motivated Court Support Specialist to join our team at the Center for Alternative. As a key member of our Supervised Release program, you will play a crucial role in supporting arraignments and building relationships with community partners.

About the Position

The Court Support Specialist will work Sunday through Thursday from 1pm-9pm, requiring community fieldwork throughout the five boroughs. This position offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $57,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level support to Manhattan Supervised Release participants, ensuring timely and effective connections to vital services and programming.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with judges, prosecutors, defense counsel, and other court stakeholders.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with outreach teams, promoting seamless connections to critical resources and services.
  • Deliver expert crisis management and de-escalation services, advocating for client needs and ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs, creating tailored plans to address housing, income support, education, vocational training, social supports, employment, and primary care requirements.
  • Navigate complex systems, linking clients to behavioral health, human services, and criminal justice systems as required, ensuring effective access to critical resources.
  • Participate in regular case reviews and team meetings, contributing to discussions on client progress and strategic planning.
  • Meet all task assignments from supervisors and senior staff, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience providing peer support to individuals with serious mental illness and criminal justice involvement.
  • Strong computer and electronic case record skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • CASAC or CASAC-T certification.
