Overview:


The primary role of a QA Test Analyst is to create and implement software testing strategies to uncover software issues and their underlying causes.

Initially, a QA Test Analyst may execute predefined scripts; however, as they gain experience, they will take on the responsibility of crafting their own testing scripts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  • Evaluate system modifications in preparation for deployment.
  • Create testing programs that focus on aspects such as database effects, software scenarios, or user experience.
  • Record software defects using a bug tracking system and communicate these issues to the development team.
  • Identify, analyze, and document issues related to program functionality, output, online interfaces, or content.
  • Oversee bug resolution efforts and monitor progress.
  • Establish or maintain databases of known testing defects.
  • Organize test schedules or strategies in alignment with project objectives or delivery timelines.

Required Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.
  • Familiarity with circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic devices, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

Education and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience is necessary.
Essential Qualifications: 5-7 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (8 years of professional experience will be considered overqualified).

  • Develop test plans and test cases utilizing both automated and manual testing methods.
  • Collaborate with the team to ascertain business requirements and formulate recommendations, reviewing reports to identify needs.
  • Engineering background with substantial experience and knowledge of JMeter, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD practices.
  • Write code to generate testing scripts.
  • Understanding of OAuth/OWASP security protocols and their functionality.
  • Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Formulate detailed test plans and test cases based on product requirements, specifications, and user stories to ensure thorough test coverage and effective defect identification.
  • Conduct both manual and automated testing of software applications, encompassing functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and usability testing to confirm adherence to quality standards.
  • Proactively develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using suitable tools and frameworks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
  • Log, track, and manage defects identified during testing, ensuring accurate documentation, prioritization, and communication to the development team for resolution.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to comprehend product requirements, provide design and implementation feedback, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
