Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Leader will report directly to the Site President at Enjet Aero. The organization provides sophisticated sheet metal and machined assemblies for the aerospace, military, and defense sectors. This role is pivotal in steering the quality engineering function and upholding the Quality Management System.

This encompasses a range of traditional quality verification tasks, including but not limited to final inspections, incoming and in-process inspections; CMM inspection activities, independent laboratory testing, internal and customer auditing, continuous improvement initiatives; new product introduction processes; supplier quality management; scheduling inspection workloads, and ensuring overall compliance with the Quality Management System.


Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include all traditional quality verification tasks, such as final inspections, incoming and in-process inspections; CMM inspection activities, independent lab testing, internal and customer auditing, continuous improvement initiatives; new product introduction processes; supplier quality management; and scheduling inspection workloads. Oversee the production process to ensure that all products adhere to consistent standards and specifications. Develop, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures. Create and execute quality control tests, inspect products at various stages, and compile reports detailing production issues. Manage the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of inspection metrics. Provide final resolutions on quality concerns. Promote and ensure awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.

Maintain all planning and scheduling activities within the quality inspection department to ensure timely execution and compliance with all quality and design requirements.

Conduct thorough and documented inspections of final products to ensure they meet industry and company standards. Prepare reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data. Train and supervise production line staff in quality assessment practices. Communicate expectations to staff and monitor production processes to identify common types of errors or defects. Research methods to minimize human error on the production line and assess the impact of various policies on defective parts. Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) to address non-conformances that result in process or product loss. Serve as the customer interface for the Quality Organization regarding non-conformance records (NCRs).

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in sheet metal forming, welding, machining, heat treating, brazing, and assembly within a make-to-order, high mix-low volume environment. Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Strong project management skills are essential, with PMP certification being a plus. Familiarity with cold and warm press forming is advantageous, along with exposure to hydroforming, brazing, vacuum and solution heat treating, manual and CNC machining, TIG and Resistance Welding preferred. Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives is a plus, with the ability to transition from tactical to strategic thinking. Capable of leading and functioning within a team environment while effectively communicating across various organizational levels. Understanding of financial documents with the ability to track part costs from quotation through improvement comparisons. Experience with project management software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar) and ERP/MRP systems is required. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances and environments. Vision system and/or CMM experience is a plus. An Ideal Candidate Would Bring:

Exceptional problem-solving skills demonstrated through the resolution of complex technical challenges. A solid understanding of financial management, including capital management and make/buy decision processes. In-depth knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA/D3), DMAIC techniques, and PDCA. Familiarity with PFMEA, Six Sigma, and other advanced quality improvement methodologies. Proven success in new product launches from inception to completion within a gated process. Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing while mentoring and coaching others in rapid problem-solving and improvement techniques. Ability to identify potential obstacles to project plans and make necessary adjustments. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills; concise verbal and written communication style; and strong listening abilities. Ability to lead across all levels of the organization and work collaboratively with peers while effectively addressing challenges.
