Job Summary

The University of New Mexico's Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks a Family Medicine physician for a faculty position with an interest in directing the UNM Family Medicine Residency Program. The Program Director is responsible for the overall organization, curriculum, recruitment, and ongoing success of the residency program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the curriculum provided in the program is relevant and adheres to the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and ACGME guidelines.
  • Provide assistance and direction to other faculty members who hold residency administrative duties.
  • Act as a resource and liaison between residents and faculty, other departments, health authorities, accrediting colleges, and licensing bodies.
Requirements
  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
  • Board eligible/certified in Family Medicine by the ABFM or AOA.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in NM and State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification and federal DEA registration.
  • 4 years of professional activities in Family Medicine and teaching in a Family Medicine Residency.
