Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor warehouse personnel, facilitating training, supervision, and performance evaluations.
  • Operational Strategy: Assess product handling and storage needs, equipment utilization, and shipping procedures.
  • Compliance & Fleet Oversight: Manage all compliance aspects and oversee fleet maintenance and procurement processes.
  • Issue Resolution: Guide the team in addressing daily challenges and achieving performance objectives using Lean methodologies.
  • Planning & Organization: Develop workflows, staffing plans, space allocations, and equipment configurations to align with company standards.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Work with the leadership team on performance metrics, safety concerns, job assignments, and strategic goals.
  • Food Safety Compliance: Partner with the Food Safety/Quality Assurance team to ensure adherence to food safety regulations and train staff on safety protocols.
  • Warehouse Design: Create and maintain an efficient warehouse layout, implement optimal product organization, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements, integrate new strategies, and monitor key performance indicators for operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Education: BS/BA/AAS in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or an equivalent of 5+ years of experience in warehouse management within the food sector.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years in logistics management in a food, perishable, refrigerated, or related environment.
  • Leadership: 5+ years in a supervisory role within a warehousing context, with a commitment to coaching and developing a strong team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in WMS, ERP, MRP, and TMS systems, as well as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Additional Experience: Knowledge of metrics, capacity planning, value-added services, HACCP, FDA, USDA, AIB, SQF, BRC, seasonal workforce management, and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.
  • Certifications: Forklift certification.
  • Lean Operations: Familiarity with Lean Operations, Six Sigma, Kanban, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience with automated conveyor systems, pick-to-light systems, and RF-driven applications.
