Shipping Supervisor

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the daily activities of the shipping and handling of all standard inventory and manufactured products related to our customers' orders of tools and supplies. This includes supervision of multiple shifts, cycle counting, shipping and logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations and inventory management, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Directly supervise all warehouse employees, including full-time, part-time, and temporary labor, to ensure efficient and accurate processing of shipments and inventory management.
* Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling of disposition of material, and maintaining accurate and current warehouse inventory.
* Utilize SAP to accurately record goods receipts, transfers, shipping, special overruns, returned goods, and other inventory-related activities to facilitate accurate inventory accounting measures.
* Maintain company standards for quality and productivity, reviewing daily reports and communicating data regarding on-time delivery performance.
* Receive and inspect all incoming RGA's generated from warehouse and shipping errors, evaluating and documenting customer returns and communicating findings and corrective action plans.
* Communicate with maintenance on all warehouse equipment that is in need of repair.
* Ensure proper packing and identification of all packages being shipped to customers.
* Maintain safe working conditions and cleanliness of work areas for a professional image at all times, ensuring all material is placed in appropriate storage locations.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Operations preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required. APICS certification (CPIM) strongly preferred.
* One to five years of previous manufacturing supervision, warehouse supervision experience, showing an increasing degree of responsibility.
* Experience with MRP, ERP, logistics, and SAP or other equivalent software.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to supervise multi-shift exempt employees to support team building in a lean manufacturing organization.
* Thorough knowledge of freight and parcel shipment practices.
* Ability to work independently, making routine and emergency decisions without direct supervision.
