Marine Engineer Assistant

Hornblower Inc is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the Engineering Department, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of mechanical and hydraulic equipment onboard our vessel, Seaward Endeavor.
Your primary duties will include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and hydraulic equipment, as well as lubricating moving parts of the engine and other machinery. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition and that any necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner.
In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to communicate effectively with company representatives, regulatory personnel, and vessel crew members. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize tasks and manage your time efficiently.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Valid Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC)
- Minimum DD-4000 endorsement
- Valid U.S. Passport
- Valid USCG Medical Certificate
- QMED Endorsement
- Valid TWIC Card
- Ability to pass a physical exam
- Ability to pass a written exam
