About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Echocardiographer to join our team at DispatchHealth Imaging. As a Diagnostic Echocardiographer, you will be responsible for providing mobile, diagnostic echocardiographic scans for physician diagnosis utilizing portable echocardiography equipment and appropriate technical knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to various service locations in the local community to perform echocardiography studies for patients.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and protocols while performing echo exams.
  • Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies based on established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform echocardiograph studies considering the age-specific physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of the patient.
  • Demonstrate understanding of cardiac disease processes to obtain complete acquisition of images for clinical diagnosis by the interpreting cardiologist.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices appropriate to position, including how to report a safety hazard, proper body mechanics, or use of personal protective equipment.
  • Collect or verify all required order documentation and patient information prior to procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging exams.
  • Operate portable ultrasonic equipment with cardiac capabilities at patients' bedside or other designated exam settings.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
  • Transmit images and all required associated documentation to cardiologists in a timely manner according to company protocols.
  • Complete all forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed according to standard protocols.
  • Upload all required documents into company systems according to company protocols.
  • Maintain equipment, including cleaning and disinfecting according to company procedures.
  • Take good care of vehicles, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies prior to each shift.
  • Operate and behave in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Orient new staff and train students, if requested.
  • Assist with order taking, validation of studies, communication with reading cardiologists, customer call-backs, and other administrative and customer support functions as directed.
  • Act professionally and exhibit courtesy, friendliness, and a positive attitude when interacting with coworkers, patients, patients' families, client staff, physicians, and others.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • To qualify as a Mobile Echo technologist, you must meet all state-specific and federal requirements for training, education, competency, certification, and state license to perform, including one or more of the following:
  • Adult Cardiac Sonographer with a satisfactory completion of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular training program, with a focus in adult echocardiography and/or vascular ultrasound studies.
  • ARDMS registered in adult echocardiography with RDCS (AE) designation or CCI registered with Cardiac Sonographer designation required.
  • Two years' experience as a cardiac sonographer or vascular tech preferred.
  • Additional Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) desired.
  • Must have the ability to perform quality and compete echocardiogram studies and possess excellent organizational skills to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and organize daily assignments of the job.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have a working knowledge of other departmental procedures and equipment.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Must demonstrate basic computer skills to perform date entry.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may require evenings, holidays, and weekends.
