The Lehigh University Office of Residence Life invites applications for the position of Assistant Director: Residence Life. As a member of the dynamic and dedicated Student Affairs team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the residential experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and management of your assigned residential area as a live-in professional.
  • Inspire and lead a team of dedicated student staff Gryphons, fostering their personal and professional growth.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and enriching living environment for all residents.
  • Contribute to the implementation of innovative residential curriculum strategies.
  • Collaborate on department-wide initiatives, committees, and staff selection and training processes.
  • Share on-call duty responsibilities for the residential campus evening and weekend commitments required.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Higher Education or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years of related work experience.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for student development and creating transformative residential experiences.

This position is a Grade: 7 - 40, offering an approximate salary of $40,000-$46,220. The duties of the position do not allow for a remote work option; the employee in this position will be required to work on campus where they can be fully accessible to the Lehigh community. This position is a live-in position and will have four consecutive weeks off during the summer months.

The position works directly with the student staff Gryphon team and supports the residential community. The employee in this position will be overseeing Residence Life and will utilize a curricular approach and restorative practices.
