Position Overview

YOUR EXPERTISE MATTERS:

As a Tax Principal at UHY, you will be instrumental in driving the advancement and quality of our tax services. Your role will encompass providing strategic direction, nurturing vital client relationships, and crafting innovative tax solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Functions

  • Tax Strategy and Engagement Management:
    • Formulate sophisticated tax planning approaches leveraging industry knowledge and regulatory acumen
    • Offer valuable insights on tax efficiency, risk mitigation, and emerging tax developments
    • Oversee and verify tax return preparation to guarantee precision and adherence to regulations
    • Effectively manage tax filing timelines and compliance obligations
    • Track engagement progress, budgets, and deadlines, making necessary adjustments as needed
  • Research and Insights:
    • Remain informed on tax legislation, regulations, and industry trends to apply this expertise in client engagements
    • Conduct tax research to resolve client inquiries and tackle intricate tax challenges
  • Client Engagement:
    • Foster strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor for complex tax issues
    • Facilitate client meetings, comprehend their financial objectives, and devise tailored tax strategies
  • Team Leadership:
    • Guide, motivate, and mentor a team of experienced tax professionals to encourage collaboration and excellence
    • Provide support and development opportunities for the team's professional advancement
  • Process Enhancement and Innovation:
    • Initiate process improvements to enhance tax workflows and quality assurance protocols
    • Implement innovative solutions to boost efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction
  • Strategic Business Growth:
    • Identify new prospects, cultivate client leads, and broaden service offerings
    • Contribute to proposal development, client presentations, and strategic alliances
    • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen the firm's market presence and competitiveness
    • Monitor the financial performance of the tax division
  • Financial Collaboration:
    • Work with finance teams to meet financial goals
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • At least 10 years of progressive tax leadership experience within a CPA firm
  • 15 years of relevant professional experience
  • CPA License
  • Fulfillment of minimum CPE credit requirements
  • Additional industry or specialization certifications may be necessary for specific roles

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Advanced degree (Master's) or relevant certifications are advantageous
