Job Summary:

Olgoonik is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator HAZMAT to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for safely operating material handling equipment to move, load, and unload hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate standard and/or specialized material handling equipment to move, load, and unload hazardous materials.
  • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and shelves by hand or through the use of material handling equipment.
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
  • Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet as required.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Load trucks for industrial truck operators.
  • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together.
  • Lift objects by hand or with power hoists, and clean work areas, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
  • Operate industrial trucks, warehouse tractors, electric or gas engine carts, or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Operate warehouse sweepers as necessary to ensure cleanliness of storage areas.
  • Possess the capability and training to receive, issue, and prepare for shipment hazardous materials.
  • Use WMS and other government data systems to perform the requirements of the position.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of OSHA compliance training and Hazardous Materials Preparer Certification IAW Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) Part II, Cargo Movement, Chapter 204-7, Training, DLAR Preparing Hazardous Material for Military Air Shipment, and DLAI 1307 Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) Training for Packaging and Transportation Personnel Process Guidance.
  • High School Diploma or GED (may substitute experience for education on a year-by-year basis).
  • A minimum of one year of related general experience and/or training, including demonstrated knowledge.
  • Specific experience of one year minimum is required of the type noted in Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products, including Word, Excel, Access, and email business software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention to detail.

Security Clearance:

SECRET Level Required

Must have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered investigation.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must also be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

Works in a shop/warehouse environment. Work involves repetitive motions and standing for long periods of time. Work is of a physical nature and requires the incumbent to be able to lift 50 pounds overhead and/or repetitively. Outside work in hot and cold or wet weather is occasionally required.
