About the Role:
The Auto Body Technician is a key member of our team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of vehicles. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the WOW plan consistently to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Plan and prepare cost estimates for customers, utilizing various tools and techniques to repair vehicle sections.
- Repair dents, dimples, and minor body damage using hammers, filler resins, and other methods.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove and replace damaged vehicle sections with new or aftermarket parts, and repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts as required.
- Weld and attach parts into place, and prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure accuracy.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
- Proficiency in using tools required for the trade.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with various odors present.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
