We are currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to become a vital part of our materials team. Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to secure inventory in a cost-efficient and timely manner;
- Gaining and maintaining a technical understanding of the products procured;
- Conducting cost analysis and volume planning for key commodities;
- Acquiring materials, components, equipment, and services;
- Identifying and developing new supply sources when existing vendors and suppliers fall short;
- Overseeing the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure the highest quality at optimal value;
- Recommending cost-saving strategies, including make-versus-buy assessments, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience, applying professional concepts and organizational objectives to creatively resolve complex challenges. This role involves tackling intricate problems where the analysis of situations or data necessitates a thorough evaluation of multiple factors. The successful candidate will exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies, selecting appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results. They will determine methods and procedures for new assignments and may offer guidance to junior personnel. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, particularly in ordering machined and sheet metal components using prints, schematics, drawings, CAD files, and electronic files, is required.
