Position: Commercial Construction Project Manager

Role Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the comprehensive management of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The PM plays a pivotal role, acting as the liaison between project stakeholders and driving the project forward while exemplifying the qualities of a mid-level leader. The PM is the primary decision-maker for the construction initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Develop and oversee project budgets for all assigned initiatives.
  • Prepare and manage pre-construction RFP packages.
  • Facilitate project meetings, establish milestones, and generate monthly reports for stakeholders.
  • Define and manage job processes including RFIs, submittals, and pay applications; approve payment requests and negotiate subcontractor change orders.
  • Create project timelines, ensure quality assurance, and coordinate project logistics.
  • Effectively manage the project closeout process.
  • Engage with clients to assess their needs and demonstrate how our services can fulfill those requirements.
  • Supervise supporting roles such as assistant project managers, administrative staff, MEP managers, and safety personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma is required; a four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or business is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of substantial experience in commercial construction, particularly with a commercial general contractor.
  • Previous experience in a project management role with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software such as Microsoft Office, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards, etc.
  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and update project-related documents.
  • Skilled in resource organization to meet deadlines and achieve project goals.
  • Current knowledge of pricing trends and conventions in the construction market.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, communicate effectively, maintain a positive demeanor, demonstrate integrity, and pursue continuous improvement.
