We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team at Performance Food Group. Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Train Drivers: Supervise and train drivers to ensure they are equipped to handle the demands of the job, including safe driving practices and efficient delivery procedures.
- Ensure Safe and Efficient Delivery: Ensure that deliveries are made in a safe and efficient manner, with a focus on customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
- Maintain Compliance: Maintain compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, including monitoring driver logs, ensuring drivers are in compliance with all regulations, and coordinating the tracking of all relevant information on drivers.
- Coordinate Operations: Assist the Transportation/Operations Manager with the day-to-day administration of transportation and delivery functions, including scheduling, payroll, and problem resolution.
- Ensure Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained, including regular inspections and maintenance of trucks, tractors, and trailers.
- Minimize Operating Expenses: Work with the Transportation or Operations Manager to minimize operating expenses and ensure that all deliveries are efficiently routed.
- Minimum 1 Year Transportation Leadership Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a transportation leadership role, with a focus on supervising and training drivers.
- Strong Communication Skills: Must have strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with drivers, management, and other stakeholders.
- Critical Thinking Skills: Must have the ability to use critical thinking skills to analyze situations and drive decisions required.
