Job Summary

Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Commercial Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with current and potential clients to grow our equipment market share in your designated territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Leasing: Sell and promote our entire product line, including new and used John Deere equipment and allied products.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Grow and develop customer relationships and loyalty to increase market share.
  • Prospecting and Cold Calling: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase customer base and market presence.
  • Order Management: Quote and negotiate prices, credit terms, prepare contracts, and record and close orders.
  • Technical Support: Provide on-site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections, and technical support.
  • Database Management: Maintain a contact management type database and call log for designated territory.
  • Market Awareness: Manage market awareness and provide lost sales reports.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide status reports to sales managers on achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Rental Conversions: Manage and maximize rental conversions.
  • Expense Management: Manage and control sales-related expenses.
  • Training and Development: Attend training and sales meetings to stay current with new equipment and special deals.
  • Interdepartmental Communication: Provide feedback to other departments and provide trade-in information when requested.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Equipment Sales Experience: Must have experience in equipment sales.
  • Education and Skills: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and customers, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-Motivation and PC Literacy: Must be able to self-manage/self-motivate and be PC literate, proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook required.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
