Position Overview
DuPont - Facilities Services and Real Estate is seeking a Facilities Operations Engineer to lead and provide technical support at our headquarters and central research facilities. This role encompasses various responsibilities across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for internal stakeholders by maintaining optimal indoor air quality and energy-efficient systems.
- Develop a strategic plan for the facilities in your designated service area, assessing building conditions and creating a five-year capital improvement plan.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure that building infrastructure supports new research initiatives.
- Lead the commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Analyze and approve data, blueprints, and reports related to building operations and maintenance.
- Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain energy-efficient operations and proactively seek opportunities for energy savings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and environmental health and safety standards. Conduct safety audits and address safety concerns.
- Manage documentation by maintaining accurate master drawings and updating records for new equipment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in Facilities Engineering.
- Ability to understand project goals, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of standards such as ASHRAE, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and SMACNA. Expertise in HVAC, piping, and Building Automation Systems.
- Strong understanding of building technologies including fire protection, water treatment, and electrical distribution.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in computer tools are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with various building systems related to research laboratories and office facilities.
- Knowledge of occupational health and industrial hygiene issues related to HVAC systems.
- A minimum of five years of experience as a facilities engineer.
