We are currently seeking a Mail Clerk to oversee the operations of the Official Mail Center (OMC) at a designated military facility. As an AbilityOne provider, we prioritize the employment of individuals with disabilities. Only candidates with disabilities will be eligible for this position. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all mail.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and distribute all official mail and inter-base communications for the OMC.
  • Assess weight and determine classification along with the appropriate postage for all outgoing official mail.
  • Prepare command pouches for entry into the postal system.
  • Handle the receipt, processing, and dispatch of accountable mail containers and express mail.
  • Comply with all standards, policies, and procedures established by the organization’s leadership.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Eligibility for the AbilityOne program requires a severe disability.
  • Basic skills in mathematics and reading.
  • Dependable with strong decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a mailroom setting.
  • Military experience with prior security clearance.
