Responsibilities

The Facilities Operations Leader oversees a maintenance department that comprises front-line supervisors and a skilled team of mechanics. This role is pivotal in fostering team development, inspiring motivation, and ensuring high-quality performance. Key responsibilities encompass cost efficiency, continuous improvement in processes, service, and safety for an entire business unit across all shifts. This position is accountable for achieving site performance metrics related to uptime, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, and maintenance of facilities and grounds. Additionally, this role will mentor team members in utilizing processes and facilitate problem-solving on the production floor.

Major Tasks, Accountabilities, and Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that supervisors and teams within the business unit are developed and held accountable for meeting individual, team, and business unit objectives.
  • Address day-to-day operational challenges and attain both short- and long-term performance targets.
  • Deliver effective change leadership while steering business transformations and minimizing impact on personnel.
  • Enhance team capabilities through effective employee relations, recruitment, training, and communication for both hourly and salaried staff.
  • Engage in cross-functional communication and collaboration to assist teams in resolving operational challenges.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Conduct presentations and formal training sessions.

This role necessitates a regular presence on the production floor and may involve occasional work in adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. Off-shift and weekend work may also be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

The anticipated compensation range for this position is between $102,800 - $172,100 based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills, and experience will be considered in determining the actual starting salary. Performance-based bonuses may be applicable, with a target payout of 12% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off is subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick leave, and bereavement. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering, business, operations management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of operational maintenance experience preferred, along with 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • This position is limited to individuals with indefinite right to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a significant improvement project.
  • Ability to think quickly, take initiative, think creatively, and challenge the team to do the same.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a results-oriented, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the capacity to achieve results through mentoring others.
