Overview

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure compliance of all IT infrastructures with relevant security standards and regulations.
  2. Lead the creation and execution of the System Security Plan (SSP) along with all necessary documentation for the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization process.
  3. Work closely with stakeholders and security experts to gather essential information and ensure adherence to security policies.
  4. Manage and execute a Continuous Monitoring Plan to maintain compliance for all systems, participating actively in IT change management processes.
  5. Coordinate with system and information owners to facilitate secure implementation of system changes, assessing potential security impacts.
  6. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of security impacts from system modifications, providing actionable recommendations for risk mitigation.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement necessary security controls to uphold system integrity.
  8. Offer expert advice to project teams on security requirements throughout system development and maintenance.
  9. Ensure seamless integration of security controls within system architectures.
  10. Engage with external auditors during security assessments, addressing findings and ensuring timely resolutions.

Required Qualifications

  1. Active TS/SCI clearance.
  2. CISSP certification is mandatory.
  3. A minimum of 5 years in management roles.
  4. At least 10 years of hands-on experience with RMF framework and A&A processes, focusing on SSP development for FISMA systems.
  5. Ability to provide accurate information in response to inquiries from various internal and external partners.
  6. Skill in interpreting and communicating security directives to diverse teams.
  7. Facilitate effective communication across teams to address security issues promptly.
  8. Monitor the impact of security directives on existing systems, making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  9. Collaborate with teams to develop action plans for the remediation of security vulnerabilities.
  10. Stay updated on emerging security trends and regulations, integrating this knowledge into team communications.
  11. Lead and mentor the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) team to ensure high performance.
  12. Oversee user access processes to maintain system integrity and enforce security configurations.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience as an A/ISSO and liaising with relevant departments.
  2. Collaborate with management teams regarding security impacts.
  3. Review and validate new security solution designs for operational readiness.
  4. Provide strategic recommendations to project management and government clients.
  5. Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Possess a broad understanding of security and system architecture.
  7. Knowledge of industry security policies and guidelines.
  8. Familiarity with change management processes and security policy frameworks.
  9. Understanding of networking protocols and security technologies.
  10. Experience with vulnerability assessments and security issue resolution.
  11. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively within a team environment.
  12. Experience working with federal government entities is advantageous.
