Senior Controls Engineer

US Farathane is seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to lead project activities related to new product and process development. This role is responsible for improving productivity and reducing costs. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing mistake-proofing methods and efficiency-enhancing nets for new and existing processes.
  • Participating in new product development and assisting teams in developing process workflows.
  • Budgeting projects and controlling costs within set budgets and timing.
  • Reviewing new molds to ensure they meet Port Huron Standards and 20% better than quoted cycle time.
  • Assisting in the justification of cost savings for post-mold equipment.
  • Maintaining plant press specifications and ensuring new equipment meets or exceeds internal and governmental safety requirements.
  • Reporting unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately and addressing scrap-related issues.
  • Assuming a leadership role in training and implementing equipment and processes.
  • Ensuring workstations are set up using Lean Manufacturing methods.
  • Informing the CFT team of new materials or processes.
  • Closing out open issues on second equipment before PPAP and addressing new issues within 60 days.
  • Handing over operation manuals, backup programs, and spare parts to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintaining standard component lists and quotes for production equipment.
  • Participating in 8-D teams for quality issues and submitting cost-saving ideas.
  • Attending required training and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 45 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
