Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at AA2IT. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and rating various substrates for natural weathering in our architectural coatings group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate projects with the exterior technical specialist and perform repetitive tasks such as board painting with coatings provided from other lab members.
  • Read color and gloss changes on the boards at planned time intervals and rate the boards for coating degradation.
  • Mount and remove substrates from the test fence as needed.
  • Perform data entry and prepare reports on a daily basis.

Requirements:

  • Strong sense of work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • High standards of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to priority changes on a daily basis.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required with 4 years of practical laboratory experience.
  • Associate's degree with 1 year of practical laboratory experience or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable working independently or in a team environment.
  • Must be able to perform tasks outside of the lab, such as substrate mounting and removal.
