Pediatric Palliative Care Physician - Southern California

We are seeking a Pediatric Palliative Care Physician to enhance the expanding Supportive Care program at Children's Health of Orange County. This program is dedicated to providing comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support for pediatric patients and their families, with a focus on enhancing quality of life, managing symptoms, and, when necessary, facilitating end-of-life care.

Key responsibilities include delivering compassionate and high-quality care to pediatric patients across a range of medical and surgical conditions from infancy through young adulthood. There are also opportunities for involvement in quality improvement initiatives, community outreach, resident education, and various administrative roles.

Children's Health Specialists, a growing pediatric subspecialty group, comprises over 250 pediatric specialists across 22 subspecialties. This group operates as a division of Children's Health of Orange County, which is affiliated with a prominent university.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position is intelligent, self-sufficient, and passionate about palliative care medicine, with a strong desire to contribute to the growth and development of the program. Additional qualifications include:

  • A valid California medical license or eligibility to obtain one
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Completion of a fellowship in adult or pediatric palliative care (preferred)
  • Current California DEA certificate
  • Current PALS certification
