We are seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team at CAMO LAX, a part of Camo Hospitality. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare high-quality food to specifications, ensuring consistency and presentation.
- Measure and portion food items accurately, adhering to portion sizes and quality standards.
- Cook food to proper specifications in a timely manner, utilizing kitchen equipment efficiently.
- Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained, and food is stored correctly in accordance with health and food handling regulations.
- Monitor freshness and quality of all menu items, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed, adhering to daily checklists.
- Follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations, maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
- Set up, operate, and maintain kitchen equipment, adhering to waste control guidelines and recording waste.
- Use proper documentation to record all food production, completing tasks in order on the prep list from the manager.
- Label and store products to company standards, washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients as needed.
- Clean dishes, wash cooking utensils and cookware, and sanitize the kitchen, working collaboratively with the manager, runners, cooks, and hotel staff.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed, following all company policies and procedures.
- At least one year's experience as a Prep Cook or Line Cook.
- Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations.
- Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attentive and detail-oriented.
- Capable of following procedures and taking directions.
- Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions.
