Job Overview

Event Coordination at Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium

This is a full-time position primarily during the day, with flexibility to accommodate event requirements, including potential evening and night shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is an hourly union position responsible for the physical labor involved in the daily setup and dismantling of convention, meeting, and sports facilities. The individual may lead and support team members in the physical arrangement of events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrange and disassemble chairs, tables, stages, and other equipment related to meeting and convention services.
  • Install and remove basketball flooring, artificial turf, and other types of flooring.
  • Designate floor markings for concert seating and large gatherings.
  • Supervise teams of part-time setup personnel.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Setup Supervisor.
  • Manage contractual labor to ensure successful completion of tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To excel in this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty effectively.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions in the execution of duties.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating square footage.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); or three to five months of relevant experience and/or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in a leadership, supervisory, or managerial role is required.

KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Familiarity with the operation of motorized equipment and the use of basic hand tools.
  • Experience operating forklifts.
  • A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE IS PREFERRED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position necessitates constant standing and walking, with frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Manual tasks require the ability to lift weights up to 51 lbs.
  • Work conditions may involve both indoor and outdoor environments.
