We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Imaging Specialist to join our team at Design Within Reach. As a Digital Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest technical standards are maintained in our digital image production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Drive high-volume digital image production, working closely with our photography team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality images.
- Catalog, name, crop, color manage, and provide retouching for a high volume of digital assets under tight deadlines.
- Ensure imaging standards are maintained, providing guidance to freelance photographers and videographers as needed.
- Troubleshoot on-set issues with cameras, photo/video equipment, computers, and software to reduce downtime and maximize productivity.
- Execute on business metrics such as image coverage, image quality, and studio throughput, by performing quality assurance, contact resolution, and developing new processes.
- Pilot new processes and initiatives, providing feedback to ensure successful implementation.
- Perform various video production tasks, including establishing video asset management best practices, creating standards for quality optimization, and instituting post-production workflows.
- Look for process improvement opportunities to streamline, increase productivity, or reduce defects; define and implement projects to address those needs.
- Utilize appropriate digital asset management techniques to track products between photography and video bays.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in digital photography, video production, or related field required.
- Professional experience as a retoucher, photo assistant, digital technician, video editor/technician in a commercial photography studio.
- In-depth experience with Capture One, Adobe CC, Bridge, video software, Windows environments, and large-scale asset file management.
- Strong understanding of color profile management policies and best practices, including the ability to color shift and manage multiple peripheral devices.
- Proficiency with Windows and Mac OS.
- Demonstrates strong written and oral communication.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment.
- Experience with digital photo/video asset and file management and standards, including knowledge of video codecs, bitrates, etc.
- Ability to be on set and assist with product photography shoots on an as needed basis.
- Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to learn and master proprietary internal tools.
- Excellent English proficiency (verbal, written, and presentation skills).
- Retouching portfolio or video reel required for consideration.
- Experience writing scripted workflows (Java, Apple Script, PowerShell, or similar).
- Familiarity with software, camera, and viewing color profile management.
- Experience with video capture tools, color correction, motion graphics, masking, special effects using DaVinci Resolve, Adobe After Effects, and similar.
- Accustomed to the intensity of the studio environment, and deals well with deadline pressure.
- Self-driven and optimistic problem solver who is able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment.
