Job Title: Facilities Technician

Cocoon House is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our youth, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and repairing facilities and equipment.
  • Assess and prioritize maintenance needs, developing schedules and performing tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with operations and leadership teams, collaborating on long-term solution recommendations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including annual certification scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including proper storage of chemicals and equipment.
  • Oversee facility improvement projects, including volunteer groups in collaboration with the Volunteer Manager.
  • Order and inventory facility supplies.
  • Perform minor electrical and plumbing maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures and appliances.
  • Perform routine custodial services, both interior and exterior.
  • Seasonal maintenance of landscaping at all sites.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience in general building and grounds maintenance, including basic plumbing, HVAC, and security.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Clear a background check with DCYF.
  • Possess a valid Washington State driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Experience working in organizations experiencing rapid growth and expansion a plus.
  • Ability to use common tools (hammer, drill, diagnostic meters, etc.).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
