Position Overview:

The role of the Mortgage Financing Specialist involves guiding members through their home loan processes, assessing loan applications, and making informed credit decisions in accordance with mortgage lending standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes and assesses documentation related to mortgage applications to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory criteria. Organizes the loan file, including the decision to approve or deny, and forwards it to the mortgage processing team. Establishes the terms and conditions for approved loans and discusses them with members.
  • Promotes the Credit Union's mortgage offerings to both individuals and businesses within the real estate sector.
  • Assesses the eligibility of loans for secondary mortgage markets.
  • Cross-sells additional services offered by the Credit Union.
  • Ensures adherence to all relevant federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies, while completing necessary training.
  • Stays updated on current trends and market dynamics impacting mortgage lending.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three to five years in sales or a related field, with prior experience in the mortgage sector being advantageous.
  • Must maintain an active registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
