Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

AXISCADES Inc. - North America Operations is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Peoria, IL. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and updating design and engineering changes, reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints, and understanding and investigating design and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop design, process, manufacture, test, and validation of components, systems, sub-systems, and complex systems related to Engine and Cooling Installation team.
  • Analyze current and conceptual designs and proposals with respect to specifications and requirements, conduct time and cost feasibility, and provide recommendations.
  • Investigate equipment failures, assembly concerns, and difficulties, diagnose and troubleshoot faulty operations, and make recommendations.
  • Develop conceptual designs by applying design principles to meet requirements.
  • Review final designs within and outside the team for further development, analysis, testing, and evaluation.
  • Conduct timely design and quality gate reviews, as well as lead issue management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering required.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience with problem-solving analysis, determining root cause, troubleshooting, concept generation, etc.
  • Product development experience, including product design, validation, test, and/or simulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams and deliver proven, high-quality, cost-effective designs within committed timelines.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Engine Installation and Cooling systems (EIC) design and development.
  • Experience in working with assembly, manufacturing, first responder, and troubleshoot systems and subsystems on products.
  • Experience with Creo software, 3D Visualization, Teamcenter.

Soft Skills:

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Presentation and lead experiences – ability to create, present, and lead design review, quality gates, supplier collaboration, stakeholder update, and issue management.
  • Team player and detail-oriented.
