Position Overview

The Precision Instrumentation Specialist will service custom, complex, laboratory instrumentation and equipment. This position involves assembling, installing, calibrating, maintaining, investigating, diagnosing failures, repairing, requalifying, and filing service reports. Additionally, this role will assist in creating and reviewing calibration procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install instruments and perform installation and operational qualifications
  • Investigate and diagnose failures with installed instruments and equipment
  • Write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Troubleshoot activities and repair instruments and equipment to service specifications
  • Maintain a program for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Complete and submit accurate and detailed service records; track all service activities and ensure documentation is complete, timely, and accurate

This role requires working in compliance with relevant safety and regulatory bodies, including OSHA, ISO, and FDA. The successful candidate will maintain and continuously develop personal knowledge and expertise related to the service of complex laboratory equipment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, electronics, mechanical engineering, molecular biology, computer science or related field
  • 3+ years of related experience in an instrument services industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical circuits and diagrams, including use of common electrical measurement tools such as multi-meters and oscilloscope
  • Demonstrated ability to perform or manage the performance of on-site calibrations and preventive maintenance activities of laboratory or support equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to document and strong attention-to-detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $89,000 annually, based on location and experience. In addition to a bonus eligibility and company stock, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, paid leave for parents and caregivers, a retirement savings plan, wellness support, and health benefits.
