Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Key Management Service (KMS) Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, stability, and security of our enterprise key management systems. You will collaborate closely with our Chief Information Officers, engineering teams, and security personnel to maintain high-performance KMS solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the key management infrastructure to align with user requirements, security protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Utilize Incident and Problem Management tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the performance and scalability of KMS infrastructure.
  • Employ problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to key management services, including encryption and key rotation.
  • Implement and uphold security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and cryptographic keys.
  • Work in collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams to automate key lifecycle management workflows.
  • Apply necessary patches, updates, and upgrades as required.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and address incidents promptly.
  • Conduct post-incident analyses and develop preventive strategies to mitigate future risks.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and emerging technologies in key management and cryptographic standards.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience with Linux/Unix and/or Windows server environments.
  • Exhibit automation and scripting capabilities using languages such as Python, Perl, shell scripting, or PowerShell.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cryptographic principles and key management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Service Reliability, including Triage, Issue Mitigation, and Problem Management.
  • Hands-on experience with key management systems such as AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, or Google Cloud KMS.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functional areas and navigate operational and cultural challenges.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with HSM products from Utimaco, Thales, Entrust, and legacy systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Knowledge of Quantum Cryptography.
  • Understanding of Java/API and microservices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex security topics to internal stakeholders.
