Job Summary

This position will be responsible for providing strategic support to the Corn Syrup Refinery department, working closely with the Refinery Superintendent to drive operational excellence and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refinery operations, process improvement, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain close contact with operations teams to identify and address potential issues and bottlenecks.
  • Develop and implement action plans to eliminate losses and optimize refinery operations.
  • Proactively anticipate and mitigate challenges and hazards, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to prioritize work orders and ensure timely execution.
  • Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and analysis of problematic systems and areas.
  • Maintain operational standard work for operators, providing guidance and support.
  • Assist with operational activities, including D3 and field operations.
  • Evaluate and qualify trainees on required department competencies, ensuring timely progression of training.
  • Collaborate with the Refinery Superintendent to create strategic goals for the refinery, focusing on optimal reliability and operations efficiency.
  • Enter and approve work orders as necessary, prioritizing issues and ensuring timely resolution.
Requirements
  • Strong background in refinery operations, process improvement, and leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a refinery or process improvement role.
  • Knowledge of control of hazardous energy/lockout-tagout policy and procedures.
  • Understanding of wet mill facility and associated processes outside of the refinery.
  • Ability to work with various chemicals and caustics, as well as vibrating equipment.
Work Environment

This position will work primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional work outside of standard hours. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
