Position Overview

As a Culinary Operations Manager, you will oversee the kitchen operations and strive to meet sales and profit objectives for the restaurant by implementing and upholding company policies, procedures, and performance standards. You will guide the kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are executed to maximize guest satisfaction and maintain a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Manager in planning and evaluating staffing and operational needs.
  • Ensure profit targets are met while maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Support the development and training of all team members, including subordinate managers.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Complete all coursework at the University of Perkins successfully.
  • Maintain ServSafe certification.
  • Perform and assist in all roles within the restaurant.
  • Guarantee that all menu items are prepared and presented according to established standards.
  • Monitor food temperatures to minimize risks associated with food safety.
  • Ensure compliance with productivity and service standards through effective scheduling and staffing.
  • Manage facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Maintain inventory levels in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Provide accurate financial data related to supplies, inventories, and operating expenses.
  • Identify and rectify any operational issues to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy in payroll and operating expenses.
  • Participate in team meetings and present information as required.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in food service.
  • High school diploma; some college education or degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with employees, vendors, and guests.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and odors.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and walk.
  • Must be able to reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5 to 3 feet.
  • High level of mobility and flexibility required.
  • Ability to work irregular hours under pressure during peak times.
  • Must be able to carry trays weighing up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
