Job Summary

This position will be responsible for providing strategic support to the Corn Syrup Refinery department, working closely with the Refinery Superintendent to drive operational excellence and optimize refinery performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain close contact with operations teams to advise on problems and develop action plans to eliminate bottlenecks and losses.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate challenges and hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Utilize performance metrics to drive out losses and optimize refinery operations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to prioritize work orders and schedule maintenance activities.
  • Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of problematic systems and areas, and maintain operational standard work for operators.
  • Assist with operational activities on D3 and in the field, and evaluate and qualify trainees on required department competencies.
  • Develop strategic goals for the refinery to maintain optimal reliability and operations efficiency, working closely with the Refinery Superintendent.
  • Enter and approve work orders as issues arise, with appropriate prioritization.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive safety culture and adhering to ADM's Code of Conduct and Core Values.
Requirements
  • Experienced refinery qualification and strong mechanical and operations aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at multiple levels.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of Control of Hazardous Energy/Lockout-Tagout policy and procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of wet mill facilities and associated processes outside of the refinery.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional work outside standard hours.
  • Work with various chemicals and caustics, and exposure to high and low temperatures, as well as cramped positions and slippery/uneven surfaces.
  • Lift 50 lbs, carry ladders and tools, and climb ladders.
